Gustavo Bozano has been appointed as new CEO for GenoMar Genetics Group. He will start in his new position 1 May, 2024.
Extensive experience from the industry
Gustavo is a Brazilian citizen and has more than 30 years of experience from the Brazilian aquaculture industry where he has held various technical, managerial and leadership positions. For 19 years, he has been the Managing Partner at AquaLagus Consultoria e RepresentaĆ§Ć£o AgropecuĆ”ria. The company has been actively consulting on operational and economic analysis of biological performance in tilapia production.
In addition, Gustavo has been working as Technical and Operations Director at Mcassab, a Brazilian tilapia producer and as Commercial and Marketing Manager for animal feed at InVivo Group, a Food and Beverage Manufacturing company.
He holds a Master and Doctor of Science in Animal Science from the Universidade de SĆ£o Paulo, Brazil. He also has studied business strategy at the University of La Verne, California, USA.

New role for the former CEO
Alejandro Tola Alvarez, who has served as CEO in GenoMar Genetics Group for the last seven years, takes on the role of Executive Director for Non-Salmonids in Blue Future Holding. The company, owned by EW group specialises in aquaculture investments.
Alejandroās history in GenoMar spans over a period of 18 years. He worked on developing GenoMarās technology and operations in breeding and distribution, first as COO in Asia and later as CTO and CEO. This positioned GenoMar as a premium brand both in Asia and LATAM and a global leader in tilapia genetics distribution. Ā

In his new role, Alejandro will use his comprehensive industrial experience and network in global aquaculture to support Blue Future Holdingās efforts at identifying, evaluating, and integrating new investment opportunities. He will support current portfolio companies in their scale-up and growth journeys. Alejandro will also be part of the Board of Directors and continue to perform as Director of Breeding and R&D in GenoMar.
